Full-Time School 1:1 Nurse – Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) - Richmond Public Schools

Gateway Healthcare Professionals is currently hiring for experienced Licensed Practical Nurses or Registered Nurses for Richmond Public School Systems needed for full-time for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year beginning in August.

HOURS

Daily hours vary but typically shifts last 7-8 hours Monday through Friday excluding Holidays.

REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Richmond needs Full Time Nurses to accompany students to and from school during the school week handling a multitude of emotional, behavioral and physical limitations, including wheelchair care, trach care, g-tube care, asthma care, incontinence care, seizure disorders, all ADLs and other areas as required. Each assignment will vary depending on the complexity of the student's care plan.

  • MUST have Pediatric experience

  • MUST have experience working with Gastrostomy and nasogastric tube feeding

  • MUST have experience working with Tracheostomy care and suctioning in pediatric field

  • MUST have experience monitoring oxygen levels and vital signs

  • MUST have experience with seizure monitoring and management

  • MUST meet the physical requirements to provide life saving measures in emergency situations until an ambulance can arrive

  • MUST BE FAMILIAR with Exceptional Education Population with a minimum of (1) year working in a pediatric setting caring for ages (3-21 years)

  • MUST be willing to ride the school bus to and from the school with the student if the student care plan requires it.

  • MUST have reliable transportation of your own to get to and from your assignment each day

  • Responsible for obtaining and recording patient daily log of interactions throughout each day.

  • Responsible for keeping comprehensive medical records of all patient interactions

  • MUST hold a valid, unencumbered Professional License for the State of Virginia (Compact License or Multi-State License that is valid in Virginia is acceptable)

  • MUST undergo and pass Federal & State Criminal Background Check, CPS Investigation, and 10-panel drug screen

  • Not Required: Bi-Lingual – some students and their parents speak Spanish so a nurse who speaks Spanish is a plus, but this is not a requirement at all.
